Frogman GWF-D1000ARR-1JR is a G-SHOCK & Antarctic Research remotely operated vehicle (ROV ) collaboration model, released on October 11th.
A ROV was developed by Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, for geographical and biological studies in Antarctic lakes and was equipped with Frogman GWF-D1000 to measure depth and directions. It was used at the research in January, 2018 and the Frogman GWF-D1000 functioned properly even under extreme environment, which contributed to the success of the expedition in Antarctica.
GWF-D1000ARR-1JR is based on GWF-D1000, but has the colors of red, black, orange, and blue just like the ROV. The back plate and the band shows a silhouette of Antarctica. If you turn on the back light, another pattern of the Antarctica will appear. “AR-ROV01”and “AR-ROV02” , the model names of the ROVs are engraved on the loop.
