GW-9405KJ-5JR G-SHOCK Love The Sea And The Earth EARTHWATCH Collaboration
G-SHOCK has been producing collaboration watches with environmental conservation groups and have been supporting them for years. Rangeman GW-9405KJ-5JR is a G-SHOCK’s collaboration watch with “EARTHWATCH” and is a 2019 November model of the Love The Sea And The Earth Series.
The watch has a dark brown band with zebra like white stripe patterns and a translucent brown bezel over a orange monocoque. A few of other parts are also in orange as an accent color. Another accent color you would notice is blue which you can see on the upper left part of the display. The translucent design may remind people of GW-9401KJ-3JR which is another EARTHWATCH collaboration watch released in 2015. The GW-9401KJ-3JR reflects the color of Ghost glass frog whereas the new collaboration, GW-9405KJ-5JR, is designed to resemble that of another endangered species called Okapi that lives in Central Africa. Okapi has a brown body, zebra like white stripe patterns on the leg and reddish or orange-tinged head. Also, Casio applied a blue indicator on the upper left part of the display to represent Okapi’s blue tongue. There are zebra like white stripe patterns on the package box too.
The based Rangeman GW-9400 was designed and developed for uses in harsh environments such as rain forest, jungle and dens forest. GW-9405KJ-5JR certainly embodies the concept of Rangeman watches and fits in with the impression of EARTHWATCH/ Okapi. A very distinctive collaboration watch which you would hardly find something similar.
